Random Thoughts for March 2012 week 1

Random Thoughts

If God wanted us to talk more than we listen,
He would have given us two mouths and one ear.
        Hmmmmm .............maybe He did,
                              and called them politicians.
 --------------------

Some people say they hate another person.
When they do that, they sin.

Jesus tells us to love our neighbor,
     and everyone is our neighbor.

In answering questions from (of all things) a lawyer,
Jesus tells that loving our neighbor is the ...second great commandment.

It is not an option, it is sinful not to.

Now, I have many students and friends,
I hate none of them....
some of them I just do not like their behavior!

We can love our enemies,
but we are not required to like their behavior.

--------------

Do not let someone's poor planning
create a panic emergency in your own life.

--------------------

You really do not know how to live
until you have something greater than yourself to die for.

In Vietnam, I would have gladly died
to protect one of my friends or
       for my country,
in learning that,
    the real answer comes, .....
that I would gladly die for Jesus.

In the adventure we call our lives,
some days there is nothing but sunshine and sand,
and the path is easy;

but it is the days we meet boulders in our path,
those boulders teach us the most.

We grow physically and emotionally stronger in moving those boulders from our path.

But, in our weaknesses, we grow stronger spiritually
when in Humility
we are required to depend on the Lord
to help move the mountains in front of us.

God made us, and just like a parent,
He wants to help us in all our trials, sorrows, pebbles and mountains.

Thanks be to God.

Humility is a strange behavior in that,
when we think we are humble often we just lost it.
It is difficult if not impossible
to be proud for your humility toward God.

 -----------

We have to have boundaries in our lives.

With God's boundaries, we are set free,
free of the worries of this life and
free to completely be a slave to His way.

This is good for us. Because,
     without His boundaries
our lives becomes as a river with no banks........ a swamp.

Thanks be to God.

------------

In a world that says,
     “live and let live”,
     “Do your own thing”,
     “Do it your way”,
“to be happy, buy this” and
“If it feels good, do it”,
it is no wonder we have the sinful unfulfilled society we have.

So many people are so caught up of finding peace
in the next desire of their heart.
When they do this, they are looking in the wrong places.

For peace of mind we simply have to look
at the cross as the symbol of Jesus’ teachings and
we will be filled with the Holy Spirit.

In our humility we become Great in the Lord,
in our mercy to others we are showered with His mercy,
in our seeking a Personal Relationship with
Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit,
we are give hope and greater faith, in our hearts and minds.

He gives us everything we need
as we need it.

Thanks be to God.

We never know when
Our example is affecting those around us.
We must live in faith
      that our example is
the Worthy example God wants us to be.

Sometimes opportunities we often call problems
are simply based on how we look at things.
In God's grace he have a completely different perspective and
see things in a whole new light, .....
          the Light of the world.

Hope is not a destination,
it is a gift from God
during our earthly Journey to live in Him.

Hope…....................
We all have hope in our lives, but more importantly,
we need to feed our Hope in God.

From the first time God spoke to Abraham in Genesis 12,
Hope became a central part of the Abraham’s life.
What began with Abraham came all the way down through Jesus.

Just as God was faithful to Abraham, so too is the hope that now comes through Jesus. Abraham was told he would birth... a great nation, but he had to wait 25 years for his old wife to have their first child, Isaac.

We must learn from our history and experience. God will give us many blessings, but waiting is part of the having hope. Hope is not a destination, is the is the road we travel, patiently..... just as Abraham did. "Good things come to those who wait upon the Lord."

Thanks be to God.
