Are You Resistant to Radical Ideas?

It is hard to imagine the Pharaoh of Egypt when this scruffy, smelly Moses barged into the palace to see him with his buddy Aaron.  It was radically outrageous to do so and it could have been the death of both of them with just a flick of the Pharaoh's hand.

Christopher Columbus was a man of a Radical Idea.  Imagine his friends when he sailed west of Spain with no intentions of turning back.  Many of them probably thought, "That is the last of him and those three rickety boats, the Queen must have decided those boats were probably trash anyway."  Would he come back with the radical proof that the earth was NOT flat?   Yes, he did it! and did come back.

Gutenberg had a radical idea.  A lot of people probably thought it was outrageous that this Gutenberg, the inventor of the printing press, was stupid enough to spend so much of his time and energy on such a fool hardy idea.  Hardly anyone could read, "why do we need books or papers to be printed quickly!"  It put the town  "criers" out of business, upset the church, but made Martin Luther famous in a period of a month in late 1517.  Luther's Radical Ideas were then sold quickly.  Because of the printing press, about 50 years later there was a revolution of religious thought called the Reformation.  But, Gutenberg listened to his mind and its radical thoughts and things changed.

Imagine Abraham's wife when he came in one day and said, "Honey, pack your bags, we're moving?"  Imagine, what she said when he responded to her question, "Where?"  But, she went.  When every one around Abraham were worshiping gods, multitude of gods; it was a radical, stupid idea but Abraham believed there was only one God!  At that time, the concept of "One God" was a Radical Idea for Abraham's friends, and to see Abraham act so dramatically for this one God and move to someplace Abraham did not know, how crazy and radical that was!  Imagine the laughter from Abraham's friends.  But, he listened to God and it happened.

The list of events like these could go on.

But, in its time, there is one event, at its time, that was the most radical of all.  The event of a virgin birth to a baby born in a lowly cattle stall.  It was a Radical Idea 2000 years ago, that the Savior, here to pronounce the forgiveness of sins, was born a little helpless baby.  This baby was growing to become crucified to save mankind from itself.  There is clear evidence outside the Gospels of the Bible that a man named Jesus was crucified.  There is proof in people's lives of the time that the lowly baby named Jesus, killed as a criminal, rose from being dead, and lived for a time on this earth, was crucified, and then ascended into heaven.  There is no contradiction, no evidence contrary of these events recorded by anyone at the time Jesus and the Disciples.

It is a radical (crazy) to think the killers of Jesus, the Sanhedrin, the Pharisees and teachers of the law would not have tried to squash this "resurrection" story with every ounce of their being, and every penny in the Temple treasury.  Yet, in realizing the truth, they just try to buy off the guards and ignore the evidence.
It is a radical (crazy) to think that thousands of people and many who loved Jesus would make up the stories we have of seeing this dead man Jesus, resurrected,  alive, walking and talking!
It is radical (crazy) to think that 11 men who thought they would be next in line to be crucified, would suddenly be walking in Jesus' footsteps, if they had not seen Jesus, alive!  In the immediate aftermath of His death, none of these men wanted to die for Jesus, terrified and huddled in a little room, they were scared of every little sound outside their door (John 20).  Yet, in a breath from Jesus , for Jesus, they were ready to go to their death preaching the Gospel of Jesus.

It is radical to think someone or some group would waste their time, making up and try to sell this idea of salvation in the manner it is told in the Gospels.
It is radical to think smart, learned, and intelligent people 2000 years ago would be crazy enough to believe this Jesus and His Gospel of God, if it did not happen just as it is written in the Gospels.

But, the Truth is, people and the disciples were not crazy.
They testified to the Truth of Jesus Christ.

It is radical to think that someone in their right mind in writing and creating a fictitious story of Jesus, as the Son of God, as the King of Mankind, as Savior of this world would have written this story of Him as it is presented in the Gospels.

But, for 2000 years this Jesus has survived and His salvation has come to us to accept or reject.

But the Truth is Truth and not radical at all.

But now, in our time,
      in this OUR 21st Century,

It is Radical, YOU CONDEMN YOURSELF

IF YOU DENY AS TRUTH
    ANY OF THE FOLLOWING

Jesus was born a baby,
Lived as a child, teenager, and young man,
Chose to live a life in poverty,
selected 12 men to carry forth His message,
           Is the Son of God,
Died as a criminal to redeem us from our sins
Rose from the Dead three days later,
                    is the Son of God,
                         Ascended into Heaven,
                            and
in ways we do not completely understand,
                            will determine our eternal life.

WHAT IS
   TRULY RADICAL
        BEHAVIOR AND BELIEF?

To Cast Aside and Believe as Fiction or
             Live as Fiction
the Divine Gospel of Jesus Christ.

There is radical danger in knowing about Jesus.
If you know about Jesus,
you truly have an eternal decision to make.

Either accept Him and live as Christ would have you live

or

Live life as you want to live.

It is not just what you say that is your decision,

rather it is

The every day way you live your life

that is your eternal decision.
