The Power of One

The Power of One

Matthew 28: 18-21    And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying , "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.         Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."

The Power of One person is amazing.  In a slogan some years ago The US Army enticed recruits that with their training a person can become An Army of One.  In representing Christ, the Power of One can be amazing not only to the people affected by your presence, but also by you when you understand your Power in Christ.  This Power in you only requires Christ totally in your heart, for you to let go of your inhibitions, and listen to the Power of the guidance of  the Holy Spirit.

In Sharing Leadership, Christ gave His disciples His Power when He sent them out to represent Him to the House of Israel.  In Matthew 10:19, Jesus tells them not to worry about what to say to the Hebrews, for the “Spirit of the Father” will tell you what to say.   After the Resurrection, Christ appeared in the upper room (Matt 20:19-23), and in coming to the disciples and permanently anointed His disciples with the Holy Spirit. The Power completely changed them.  In one moment the disciples were as scared little boys, scared of the the sounds in the street that it may be soldiers coming  for them.  In the next moment they are ready to be a force, a True man of God,  the Power of One for Jesus, with the threat of death no obstacle.

So too, when we accept our salvation through Jesus, we are anointed in the Power of the one Holy Spirit.  Oh, in being trained to represent Jesus we gain confidence, but when lay our faith completely in Jesus and we truly rely on the Holy Spirit, our testimony of Him becomes in us a force beyond ourselves.

By and in ourselves, we miss opportunities to do our best for Christ, but with the Power of One in us we become persistent, unflappable, unstoppable, and beyond amazing.

Pray often, everyday, Listen more, Study God's word, Let Go of Inhibitions, Allow Christ to fully Fill Your Heart, and Feel the Power of One totally in your life; then in the full confidence in and of our Savior, go be amazing, as an Army of One for our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thanks be to God
