OUR Perfect Change ...

Our Perfect Change...

Beginning in Acts 4, Peter and John are called before the Sanhedrin, the Temple elders and leaders who put Jesus to the cross, and was questioned because of their preaching and teaching concerning the resurrection of the dead.  The Sanhedrin was filled with Sadducees who did not believe in any resurrection.
Acts 4
8Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: "Rulers and elders of the people!9If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a cripple and are asked how he was healed,10then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed.11He is " 'the stone you builders rejected, which has become the capstone. '12Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."13When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.

One of the most important topics for our faith rarely preached about, rarely heard about in Sunday Schools, and rarely talked about in Bible Studies is the fullness we can find in feeling the movement of  the Holy Spirit in our lives.  It is can be difficult to know, recognize, and understand the in-filling of the Holy Spirit (Acts 4:8), the very real presence of it in our lives unless you have seen it, have been taught about it, but best of all vividly experienced it.

In your reading this message, consider the following thoughts from scripture that comes to us from the New Testament:

1-  God puts our faith in us (Romans 12:3).

2-  Jesus died for showing us how to live and
belief in Him as our Savior is our
         Salvation from our sinful selves
(Romans 10:9).

3-  But, it is receiving the Holy Spirit in our humble acceptance of Jesus and genuine confession of our sins that truly brings the fullness of God and Jesus to our lives(Acts 2:38) and
the Holy Spirit continues to change us forever.

It is then the Holy Spirit that

fills us with boldness  (Acts 4:8)
providing us Strength and Power (Ephesians 3:16),
        leads us (Matt 4:1),
speaks in, to, and through us (Matt 10:19-20),

convicts us of our sin (John 16:8)
Brings us Renewal for a righteous life (Titus 3:1-10),
Gives us Joy (1 Thes 1:6),
fills us with Peace and Patience
(Galatians 5:22-23) and

these with many other functions that helps us
build our Trust in God just as
the Holy Spirit did for the disciples.

The Promise of and Work of the Holy Spirit

Jesus in His patience had to suffer from the lack of real understanding about His mission by and from His very own disciples.  In His final journey to Jerusalem, Jesus reveals to the disciples His coming suffering and death and Peter said 'NO", then again He stops Peter from fighting the guards when being betrayed by Judas in the Garden.

In John 16, we see Jesus presenting to the disciples parts of his plan for them, the Promise of the Holy Spirit.  And again, they do not understand.

Jesus promised one who would come after Him (the Holy Spirit) to give the disciples a Counselor to guide them in their days ahead.  They did not totally understand the promise and how this would affect His mission through them.

In the next several weeks as Jesus' Passion played out as He had predicted, they forgot Jesus' promise and rather, became as scared little boys.

John 16

5  "Now I am going to him who sent me, yet none of you asks me, 'Where are you going?'

6  Because I have said these things, you are filled with grief.
7  But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
8  When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment:
9  in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me;10in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer;
11  and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.
12  "I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear.
13  But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
14  He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you.
15  All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.
16  "In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me."

The Disciples Received the Holy Spirit
     after the Resurrection of Jesus

After the death of Jesus, according to the Gospel of John, the surviving disciples gathered in a room, and the doors were shut!  They feared the Jews and just considered they would be the next to die.  At the lowest of their lowest times, in the dread of their deepest fear, and in the fullness of their greatest emptiness Jesus in His perfect timing came to His disciples and fulfilled His promise to them.

From John 20:
18  Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things to her.

19  Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, "Peace be with you."
20  When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.
21  So Jesus said to them again, "Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you."
22  And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit.
23  If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained."

In the same manner we are promised
the glorious in-filling the Holy Spirit!

In our proper behavior,

    in our belief in Jesus,
      in our repentant nature,
we too receive and are anointed by the Holy Spirit:

Paul writes:

Acts 2:

33  Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.
34  For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself: 'The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand,
35  Till I make Your enemies Your footstool." '
36  "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."
37  Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?"
38  Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

In their lowest of times, the disciples were changed by Jesus when He breathes on them the Holy Spirit.  The disciples, changed by the Holy Spirit, were suddenly filled with new understanding of His mission and became as conquerors for Christ.

We too find a new humility, meekness and boldness for Christ when we accept and feel the Holy Spirit in our lives.  Through the Holy Spirit within us, we come to more fully feel the presence of God's love and protection, and Jesus' redemption from the evil around us and the sinfulness in our lives.  With the infilling of the Holy Spirit, we come to truly feel the "peace that passes all understanding"
(Phil 4:7).

Just as with the disciples, when we receive the Holy Spirit into our lives, our circumstances do not change very much, but our response to circumstances, our vision of our future, and our desire for Loving God does change us.  Knowing that it is God's Spirit, the Holy Spirit that gives us the courage, the strength, the patience to not just survive in our lives but much better; the Holy Spirit gives us the wonderful desire to thrive in our lives- living In God's grace and mercy to a Glorious life.

We may have little in our lives, but remember, Jesus took 2 fish and five barley loves to feed thousands of people; He created the universe out of nothing; truly, with the Holy Spirit, God's Spirit in us, our lives will most assuredly thrive.  Seek the Kingdom, Pray daily for humility to better understand the infilling of the Holy Spirit, then feel God's Spirit present in your everyday life, filling you with your Spiritual needs exactly as you need it, just as He did with Peter before His first meeting with the Temple Elders.

Faith, Patience and Prayer

The best lesson on the realization on infilling of the Holy Spirit came to me the first Sunday in January 2009.  The preacher that Sunday made this statement- "to have and feel the Holy Spirit in your heart, you much pray and pray and pray...... everyday.... often".  Doing that changed my life making me realize what truly happened to me on June 3rd, 1972.

Pray in humility and meekness as the preacher indicates, and in time you will feel a greater fullness of the Spirit as your pray more often.  In its total fullness, the Spirit may just fill you to your greatest when you are at your lowest time.  In my lowest time on that June 3rd, 1972 I was filled to my greatest, and the peace provided by the Holy Spirit descended on me, in the midst of the war around me and the war within me.

Through our belief in Jesus, humility, and confession of our sins, we receive the greatest source, guidance, and influence to change our lives, the Holy Spirit.  It is God's plan, a most perfect plan for our lives.

Thanks Be to God.

A Thought on the Resurrection of Jesus

A Thought on the Resurrection of Jesus

It is sad that people, even Christians, do not totally absorb the enormity of Jesus' Resurrection.

In an instant, in raising Jesus from the dead, God approved, Verified, Sanctified, and Glorified making Holy all things Jesus ever said, did, and thought. Beyond that, there is not one iota written, not one scrap of evidence the enemies of Jesus tried in any way to truly convince people to the contrary.  The Sanhedrin, the Temple Leaders that had Jesus put to death KNEW of the Truth about Jesus,
He was Killed, but now He is alive!

In and by their silence
Jesus' enemies, powerful enemies,
tells us the Truth of the Resurrection.

In our our belief in Jesus as Lord and Savior,
in the faith put in us by God (Romans 12:3),
in the Guidance of the Holy Spirit,
            in our Trusting God,
we know and feel the Truth of the Resurrection.

To know God, know Jesus;  To know Jesus, Believe and Pray;
Pray, Study the Bible, and Trust God  (John 8:19, et.al.).

Then, more than anything,
Seek the Kingdom for your life,
Listen for Him to Speak to you, and
Seek to feel the Guidance of the Holy Spirit.

For as much as a good parent desires to perfectly guide their child,

   God most assuredly loves you,
He surely will Speak to you
              and
The Holy Spirit will fill you and guide you.

Just Listen and you will know you will feel
the Truth of Jesus,
 the Truth of the Resurrection,
the Truth of God's Love for us.

Thanks Be to God

IMAGINE THE TEMPLE LEADERS ON RESURRECTION MORNING when they heard of Jesus' Resurrection.  They must have really freaked out when the guards reported THAT JESUS WAS ALIVE!.  As odd as it was for the Roman guards to go to the Temple leaders, the guards were quite convincing as the Temple leaders gave them money to be quiet, Matthew 28:11-15.    Please share the message on your Fb page as you like, and if you like, click the FB 'Follow' button to have notifications of these publications.  For other messages like this, visit my FB page, or on FB visit-"A Daily Thought Group".

10 Facts of the Historical Jesus

10 Facts of the
Historical Jesus

To deny the existence of the Historical Jesus, the man recorded in the New Testament Bible, is very much like denying your mother existed.  Further, it is likely there is more existing evidence that Jesus lived than the number of available authorities to the fact that your father was born.  Here are just 10 facts with links to much more on the Historicity of Jesus.

If you are Christian, this could and should help you in your faith.  If you are open to learning about Jesus, this may very well be the seed to grow Him in your heart.  If you are an opponent of Jesus, I encourage you to read to know your "enemy" better.

  1. Of events, people, or anything else prior to the invention of the printing press, there are more manuscripts (24,000+) that refer to Jesus than any other person that has ever lived. (*1)
    -----
  2. There are over 48 prophecies in the Old Testament concerning a person expected by the Jewish nation as a savior, all written before 521 BC.
The probability of a person satisfying just forty-eight prophecies is one chance in a trillion,
trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion,
trillion, trillion trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion.

Jesus satisfied all 48 of those prophecies. (*2)
    -----
  3. Wikipedia in the eyes of many is not the greatest source of truth.  But, it does give anyone the opportunity to present information and it gives anyone else the opportunity to refute the information.  In the link provided here, one can read of much unrefuted evidence, external to the New Testament, of the Historicity of Jesus (*3).
    -----
  4. Jesus was born unto a poor woman in a stable in a remote village, the Bible records as a virgin, a woman of faith whose husband was a poor carpenter man of faith.  Does it not seem strange that a man that would be so influential even 2000 years after he died would be born of such humble, obscure origins. This would not be the best way to manufacture and make up a story about the would be King of the Jews and The Savior for Christians and all of mankind who believe.  Nobody would ever believe this, except for the fact that it must be true.(*4)
    -----
  5. Jesus claimed to be and the Jews testified that Jesus claimed to be the 'Son of God'. (*5)
    -----
  6. People were amazed at the wisdom and miracles of Jesus.  Their amazement is to be understood as their reaction to something they had never seen and unlike anything ever known or heard of. (*6)
    -----
  7. In the aftermath of the death of Jesus, a learned man named Saul of Tarsus, a Jew, a Pharisee, a leader, and writer of the highest order of the times of the first century, made it his work to seek out Jewish converts to the ways of Jesus, try them in the courts for blasphemy, throw them in jail, and doing all he could to persecute the followers of Christ.   In His testimony, he had a vision of Jesus witnessed and heard by his companions.  He himself converts to Christianity after seeing and talking to Jesus in the vision and upon being selected by Jesus, converts and sets his life's mission to witnessing to the world on behalf of Jesus.  Never in the annals of mankind has a person of intelligence, learning, power, and influence give up all they had as Paul did.  Then, spent most of their life, suffering as he did, living as he lived, witnessing as he did, and dying as he did all for a lie and a dead man.  For this eyewitness, Jesus was clearly alive from a Resurrection.  If this did not happen as he writes and as written about him, all that Saul, renamed Paul, did and write would not have survived out of the first century.  (*7)
    -----
  8. A Roman historian born near the time of Jesus was commissioned by the Roman government to write a history of the Jews.   In his writings Flavius Josephus clearly wrote verifying this Jesus, the one called the Christ died as a criminal on a cross and was executed by Pilate. (*8)
    -----
  9. Of all the material written in the Bible about Jesus and his deeds, there is nothing that was been written at the time to dispute what was said and written about what Jesus did, before or after he died on the cross.
    -----
  10. The last element on the historicity of Jesus is the most important.   With the testimony of the New Testament, Josephus, and other writings outside of the Bible, a person is required to accept Jesus with the facts of His death on the cross.  In the aftermath of His death, there were many eye-witness accounts of Jesus appearing to people over a period of forty days (*10-1), it must be believed that Jesus, as he predicted (*10-2), was raised from the dead not long after being put in a sealed tomb (*10-3).  Even the Jewish leaders acknowledge the resurrection of the Jesus, a man they had put to death(*10-4).  This was recorded in the New Testament Gospels by eye-witnesses to the event and if it were not true, the recordings would not have survived the thousands of Gospel transcripts that were made.  Again, there is not one eye-witness record, not one iota of information written at the time, contrary to what is recorded in the Gospels.

The resurrection of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, is fact and was made possible only by the one True God.  In raising Jesus from the dead, God Verified everything Jesus ever did, AND Sanctified making Holy everything Jesus ever said.  In this, in reading this you now have a decision to make.  Jesus testified to His followers:

6 "... no one comes unto the Father (God) except by me."  (John 14)
32 "Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven." --- (Matthew 10)

It is your decision.  One day, as verified by God, you will stand before Jesus.  It is not enough to know about Jesus.  You must truly know Jesus.

    The question is,
will He know you as one who acknowledges Him and lived seeking to love Him and to understand Him as
    as Lord and Savior.

    Thanks Be to God

Overlooked Evidence, Resurrection of Jesus

Overlooked Evidence of the
  Resurrection of Jesus The Christ

Matthew 28:6 NIV

He is not here
    he has risen,
         just as he said.
Come and see the place where he lay.

There is a great important writing that was never written and it is about and concerns the Truth of the Resurrection of Jesus The Christ!

I know that sounds strange and maybe is a conundrum, a confusing thought, but from the times of Jesus, what is not written about the Resurrection is Great Testimony to the facts!

Concerning the Resurrection, one would think in 33AD the Sanhedrin, the Temple leaders behind the crucifixion would have had their people making up stories and evidence, and working overtime writing, teaching, and preaching to the Jews, gentiles, and the world about how the Resurrection was a fake and a false event perpetrated by the disciples.  Even the temple leaders believed the soldiers guarding Jesus' tomb, paying them to lie about the resurrection (Matt 28:12). The interesting fact is that from the days of Jesus, there is not one sentence, not one iota, not one word, ever recorded outside of the Bible attempting to contradict the Resurrection of Jesus Christ!

The Greatest Event in History, the “Greatest Theological Earthquake” that ever shook the earth, the event that denotes the greatest change in our calendar, and there is absolutely nothing written by Jesus’ greatest enemies, powerful enemies that killed Him to stop the growing belief of His Resurrection!  There are a number of entries in secular books about the existence of Jesus and his disciples, but nothing, absolutely nothing written at the time and History of Jesus and the Jews that contradicts the Resurrection of Jesus The Christ!

In the baptism of Jesus,
God gave His approval of Jesus as His Son,
In Jesus' Resurrection,  God raising Jesus from the dead,
God gave us His stamp of approval,
His Holy and Unqualified Validation and Vindication,
His Glorification and Sanctification of Jesus
as the His (God's) Truth of, for, and on the life,
           teachings, behavior, and ministry of
            Jesus, His Son, The Christ.

This lack of secular evidence at the time of Jesus contrary of that written in the Bible is perhaps one of the great facts testifying to the absolute Truth of the event of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Anybody, Absolutely Anybody who reads this message has a personal decision to make, if you have not already accepted Jesus as your Savior.

That Decision is:
Do I accept Jesus the Christ as my personal Savior
or
do I deny God
and what He has done for mankind?
It is not just a decision of your present life,
it is a decision that controls your eternity.

That is the Question, your behavior is your answer.
Saying, "I believe" and go one with your life
as you have been probably lived may not help you.
It is what you do with your life in living humble submission to that belief that is your honest answer answer to God.

Jesus spent over 30 years in preparation for the day He would begin His ministry.  Thirty years to think about the most important words and message He could present to tell us what to do to make our life Right with God.  This is the most important message Jesus had for mankind, he began His ministry telling mankind what must be done for an individual to come into God's Kingdom in the here and now.  It is in plain words, straight forward, clear beyond misunderstanding, without need of degrees to understand, do, and accomplish.

His first command verified by His Resurrection,

the first words he uttered in His earthly ministry,
the most important message he came to tell us, and
the primary message Jesus died for
that we will live an eternal life,
The message concerns what we need to do
to begin a life that will save us from our selfish selves and
in the desires of a all-knowing and loving God.
God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit knew what is best for us,
it is found in, and click here to read >>>  Matthew 4:17.

Thanks be to God
