Our Faith through Jesus- HE Changes Our Life

Romans 12 NIV
2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.3For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.
Romans 10:17 KJV
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

1Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us,2looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.3Consider him who endured such hostility against himself from sinners, so that you may not grow weary or lose heart.4In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.

Faith- God Wants a Relationship with You.
Jesus Taught us How
It is clear from Romans 10:17 that coming to the belief in Jesus, begins our Relationship with God- Faith, God's Gift.  The word 'faith' comes from the Greek word pistis (strong's 4102) and the root word peitho (strong's 3982).  In the Greek, the primary meaning of these words are "to be persuaded of what is trustworthy".  It is a passive word meaning it is something we receive!  This is made clear in Hebrews 12:2 where we are clearly told that Jesus authored, created, and perfected the Faith that we are given by God (Romans 12:3).

 Faith is a Relationship with God
that is
 (1)-initiated (begun by) by God because He loves us, then
 (2)- upon us hearing the "Word of God" about His love for us,
 (3)- we are persuaded to believe!

God loves us, we can do nothing about it, we do not deserve it, we are unworthy, but loves us He does.  In accepting this Relationship, this Faith He puts in us, we must seek Spiritual Maturity by living our Faith and seeking His Kingdom for our lives.  We do this through prayer, Bible Study, Trusting Him, and seeking genuine Christian Fellowship in the same.

Many Lessons Found through our Faith
As we com to know Jesus, mature in Faith, and Seek the Kingdom  many lessons come into our hearts.  As we draw these lessons into our hearts and consider what He has done for us, it is natural that we cannot help but love God, love Jesus, Trust, and be eager for the Holy Spirit to fill our lives and guide our thoughts, our words, and our deeds.
Here are seven important thoughts about understanding the Love God and Jesus has for us and how in Trusting our Faith we grow in Spiritual Maturity in our Relationship with God- our Faith.  Trust Jesus- it changes your life.
1-  Jesus over came His Problems, Issues, and Troubles (PITs) as a human being.  He had great power to control His circumstances, but not once did He use His power to change His circumstances to make life easier for Himself.  However, all use of His divine power was used to draw people to Him and His mission- our Salvation.  Jesus perfected living in the PITs of life and gave His life to save us from our selfish selves, how can we not seek to love Him.
2-  Just as we do, Jesus faced great challenges in His PITs.
In not using His natural Godly powers for strictly personal gain he gives us the great example in
 (a)- depending on our Faith through prayer,
 (b)- the importance of learning and knowing the Bible, (c)- depending on God as we should,  (d)- accepting God's will for His life, and  (e)- in His example, He shows us how to change and live our lives.
Living as Jesus lived, in Faith, brings us to greater love for Him and God.

3-  With people we love and have a relationship and especially our children, we wish to talk with them often.  Jesus' relationship with God was the same and Jesus prayed often, as recorded- sometimes all night.  As we pray and live in our Relationship with God we come to love God more leading to prayers coming more often.  We miss many opportunities to pray.  Pray for people while you drive or ride in a vehicle.  Skip a silly TV program and pray.  Our prayer life with God and Jesus are important as Jesus showed us.  Remember, in His last final moments alone in the Garden, Jesus was praying.  As communications strengthens our friendships and relationships, so to prayer strengthens our Relationship with God and our love for Jesus.  Prayer is our communication with God.
4-  In Romans 5:9 NIV we read, "Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through Him!"   Jesus came with one purpose, to save us, to buy us back, to justify us before God; this because, God and Jesus loves us.  How can we not seek the Kingdom to love Jesus as He loves us so much.
5-  Jesus lived in Faith- a Relationship with God, just as we are to live in the same Relationship, the same Faith.  He is the author, the pioneer, and the perfector of our  God given Faith defining how we are to have a Relationship with God!  How can we do anything but love Him more as we grow Spiritually through our Faith.
6-  In receiving and accepting Jesus, we are blessed with a Relationship with God- our Faith. But, there is more to have!  God, Jesus knew that putting Faith in us would not be enough.  Jesus knew that we would need help in our walk in Faith- in our relationship with God.
In accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior, we also, just as the disciples, receive the Holy Spirit and seek to
     Live each and every day          in humble submission to God
            realizing our sinful nature, confessing our sins,
             we must seek, pray for, and
                  feel the guidance of the
                           Holy Spirit

                            to guide our thoughts,
                            our behaviors-
                                 especially our reactions to circumstances,
                                    and  our words
In this we live Seeking the Kingdom then we love Jesus all the more for this blessing of the Holy Spirit.

7  Finally,  We must truly realize, understand, believe, accept, and totally embrace Jesus as Lord and Savior.  There is one moment in history that compels us to do so and respond with Love for Jesus.

God in raising Jesus from the dead

Verified, Sanctified, and Authenticated
everything that Jesus thought,  everything Jesus spoke, and everything Jesus did;Mankind felt a Theological Earthquakethree days after Jesus' death on the Cross.In the moment Jesus emerged from the tombthe world changed and has never been the same since.We continue to feel that Theological Earthquake in our lives today.
How can we not Love God, Love Jesus, and Seek the Kingdom?Live Your life in Faith- in a Loving Relationship with God.Faith may not change your circumstances but but Faith-Your Relationship with God will certainly change you.
Thanks be to God.

Matthew 28:6

"He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.  Come, see the place where the Lord lay."

Part 1 of 2 (part 2 below)

Note-  This is in two parts, both contained in this one document.  It allows you to come to a natural close after part 1 and then come back or you are welcome to read it in just one sitting.

In the time of Jesus, imagine the Jerusalem rulers’ thinking and with consternation; they could hardly understand that one humble man, a Nazarene no-less, the son of a Jewish carpenter, could create a stir in men’s heart as did Jesus.  Those rulers of the status quo hated the Son of God. They could kill him, they plotted to kill him, selfishly desired to destroy change, and so, they did.  But, none of their actions could stop the Reformation in peoples souls and the Revolution The Word of God from the Son of God created.
These Temple rulers were as blind mice in a granary.  Fat in their abundance and in time, came to be crushed with the crushing of the status quo by Rome.  One hardly wonders if they saw the change coming in the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD, until it was too late.  After the fall of Jerusalem, the Sadducees, lead by the supreme rulers were never to be heard of again.  In failing to learn, Change had killed them.
Philosopher Eric Hoffer made a comment on change years ago prompted by the times of the 1960’s.  “In times of change learners inherit the earth; while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists.”  One could consider that the Temple rulers could have learned from this, it is better to be a learner then the learned.

It is a good quote for us today.  It is the learner who continues to search for Truth and the learner who then flourishes with confidence in the change brought by the Truth; but the learned, often have stopped thinking and make their conclusions, and then rest.  Conclusions are where you are when you stop thinking!  One could conclude- Keep Thinking.  But, a better quote, a quote that continues to allow us to deal with this life of change we experience; this thought brings us True life, “Because He lives I can face tomorrow.”  Oh, our God is a God of change, a change we can believe in because he does live in and change our life.  He brings a continuing change in us that we can truly, with confidence Seek Him and live in Him fruitfully.
The Glory of the Christian faith is the confidence of our belief, that because of one Glorious Resurrection nearly two thousand years ago, we can confidently face what ever change comes our way.  It does not take wealth, an education, or good works to face the changes, challenges, and confrontations of daily living.  It requires only a belief in our Risen Lord Jesus Christ that we can be whole and face all of our tomorrows.  A belief and faith of change from an old way of living,  to living Gloriously everyday in the Grace of God.  A faith of Holiness with Purity at the center of our heart.
As we grow Spiritually in the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, we change, and in that change comes greater confidence in living life!  Our faith continues to change us as we grow in living that faith in God's will.  As we live and grow in Christ, we become more Christ like in our behaviors.  We change, people may comment, but we are confident in the change because we live with greater confidence in the Holy Spirit of God and His Eternal Word filling our hearts and desires... everyday.

Part 2

In the late 1960’s Danny, Bill, and Gloria Gaither after writing many faith filled songs formed a trio and started touring.  Listening to them talk about their songs, it is clear that a thought or a comment was the basis of most of their songs.  One day in those days of the 1960’s, when they were standing in a hospital holding their new born baby, a friend asked them, “How can you bring a baby into this world when things are so bad.”  The thought that came to Bill, “Because He Lives”.
The importance of that comment, his thought, this song, is that it is in the present tense! For our lives, Jesus is Not just spoken of as a Savior of the past tense, but a Savior now and for our future.   It not a song of faith in the past, but of a Belief of Faith for the here and now and all out futures!  Because of that, this song will live forever.  It our darkest hours, the beliefs expressed in this song gives us strengths beyond what we can do for and by ourselves.  It gives us eternal strength and strength to carry on... regardless of the times we live.

This song was a work in process for a period of time, the first two verses were written at one time just mentioned and on another stressful occasion, the last verse.

I encourage you to watch these two videos of the song.  Not necessarily both at one time but at times when you have the time to feel or read the words, listen, and absorb the message.  You will be glad you did.  The first is a Bill Gaither produced video and gives a message in additional to the song.  The second matches pictures to the words.  In the time it took someone to match the pictures to the words, they made a very moving video.

I ask you to listen not to be entertained but to be inspired; not just to be inspired, but to be strengthened in your Beliefs and more committed in your Faith.  The message of this song is as true today as it was in the turbulent days of the 1960’s, and just as true beyond our years.  With this song in our hearts, even in the worst of times we live  and we can still live in great abundance, because we can face tomorrow, simply “Because He Lives”.

Just because He lives!
Regardless of our circumstances,
Life IS worth living.... just because of an empty tomb... we know He Lives.

Because He lives
(c) 1971
Bill and Gloria Gaither

        • God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
        • He came to love, heal and forgive;
        • He lived and died to buy my pardon,
        • An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!
          • Chorus
          • Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
          • Because He lives, all fear is gone;
          • Because I know He holds the future,
          • And life is worth the living,
        • Just because He lives!
        • How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
        • And feel the pride and joy he gives;
        • But greater still the calm assurance:
        • This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!
          • Chorus
          • Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
          • Because He lives, all fear is gone;
          • Because I know He holds the future,
          • And life is worth the living,
        • Just because He lives!
        • And then one day, I'll cross the river,
        • I'll fight life's final war with pain;
        • And then, as death gives way to vict'ry,
        • I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives!
          • Chorus
          • Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
          • Because He lives, all fear is gone;
          • Because I know He holds the future,
          • And life is worth the living,

In the time of Jesus, imagine the Jerusalem rulers’ thinking and with consternation; they could hardly understand that one humble man, a Nazarene no-less, the son of a Jewish carpenter, could create a stir in men’s heart as did Jesus.  Those rulers of the status quo hated the Son of God.
