Risking Failure, A Random Thought

Risking Failure

Risking failure in doing something new is really no big deal. Men died trying to get to the moon, tradition tells us that Edison learned over a 1000 ways not to make a light bulb before he got it right. Then some idiot in Washington says its not good enough.

In living a righteous life, we must look at failue simply as a stepping stone to our next success. If people want to laugh, then if you keep trying, you will have the last laugh... but do it modestly and .... give God the Glory, He gave you the brain.

To God Be the Glory

Lessons from Nature Part 2 0f 3

Lessons from Nature ... Part 2
and the A Most Important Nature Lesson

This will, I Promise you,
give you much to think about, if you care to think about it!

We should not be amazed at what God does,
but you might not want to think about it because
 THIS is mind-boggeling amazing!

Genesis 1:3 (KJV)
And God said,
 Let there be light;

          and there was light.

I believe in the big band theory,
God said it, and
      "BANG" IT HAPPENED!

John 1:1- 3, 14 (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
          and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by Him (the Word);
            and without Him
was not anything made that was made.

14-     And the Word  (Jesus)
                        became flesh!

The Greatest Lessons of Nature

In Genesis 1, we read of creation,

In John 1:1 we read that Jesus (the Word) was there,
the very real Agent of the creation story.

Then, In Genesis,
Light was created first, Genesis 1:3.
The awe of nature is this,
we see all of God's creation
                 by the unseen,     Light.
The awe of Jesus, we accept him Him, and
the Light of the world is revealed,
by the unseen,     the Holy Spirit.

As we accept Our Living Lord Jesus,
      His Promise, His Light,
then the Holy Spirit will Warm us.

Did you know:
Our DNA is held together by laminin (*1)
                                                  its shape... is a cross.
The Cross of Jesus
              literally Holds us Together!
Every man, woman, and child that
has existed, exists now, and will every exist
is held together by the cross
(it matters not if a person likes it, it is just there).

For Jesus, the world is not amazing,
                  He created it (John 1:3)!

And He created it so that we could see His creation
by seeing the very unseen He created.
Scientist have proven that 98 percent of our atoms is space!
Look in the heavens,  what do you see?
About 98% of what you see is        space!

As it should be, the world is amazing to us.
Nature was created for us,
so that we could see by the unseen (Light)
and therefore would/could believe in a
Mighty, Awesome, and an Amazing God.

Let him who can read ....  understand:
see the Light of the World more Fully
and even greater things will be revealed to you!

Finally:
Nature teaches and shows us
                       the Bible is inspired!

In the 1930's, Nobel Laureate Dr. Richard Feynman, discovered that the protons of our atoms are tiny tiny bits of matter!
But, even better, these bits of matter
are held in one place (we call the proton) by....... Light!

Our very foundation of every atom is our protons,
    the matter in our protons
are held together by ... what else? ...
                  light of the electron-magnetic spectrum!

Simply Consider:
   Genesis 1:3,
      Then God said,
"Let there be light," and there was light.

If the writer of Genesis
was not inspired    then how did
the writer of Genesis know that light came first.
The light had to be there first, to hold our protons together!

It took mankind,
           Dr. Richard Feynman,
     4,000+ years to discover
       what the Bible
already told us in Genesis 1:3!

Our God is an Awesome God and
reveals more fully Himself to us
                    ... in His time.

Praise be and Thanks be to God

================================================

    Is it not astounding that
the first third verse of the Old Testament
and the first third verse of the
most theological New Testament Gospel, John
    are so closely interrelated
            by the word:  Light.

One great theme of John's Gospel is Light
           The very thing that
               He who created everything
                    created first.

Jesus holds us together
with the very Light He first created!

Thanks be to God

Great Faith

Great Faith,
How Great is Your Faith,  Your Trust?
                                                                                                                        Return to Main Menu

Genesis 22

1  Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, "Abraham!" "Here I am," he replied.
2  Then God said, "Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about."
3  Early the next morning Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about.
4  On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.
5  He said to his servants, "Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you."

Years ago in reading the above passage, I often wondered if I could have done what Abraham did.  I could not even understand how Abraham even went as far as he did in obeying God.  He heard God's call, did not argue, did not whine, did not sulk, but in obedience and submission, on the next morning took Isaac to the mountains to complete God's command.  He did not even ask, "Why?"  I feel strongly, that I would have been hard pressed to do what Abraham.  I am sure that as they went to the mountain with the wood Isaac had numerous questions in his mind wanting to know "where is the lamb?" as in verse 7.  I cannot image Isaac being willingly happy laying on the alter.  I would be screaming for the servants, "Help, daddy has really lost it, come get me, NOW!"

But, Abraham was showing Great Faith in God's promise to him and Sarah while he was carrying the firewood to where God showed him, building the alter, binding his son, and placing his son on the alter.  Abraham said so in Verse 5.  Abraham had total and absolute trust in God.  In verse 5, he tells his servants "... We will worship and then we will come back to you."   Abraham did not totally understand, he just trusted.

God had promised Abraham "I will make you a great nation..." (Genesis 12:2) and Abraham was in total reliance on Him and His Promise.

Abraham showed incredible Great Faith in God,
   He showed absolute trust,
In this demonstrated his faith in God's Promise.

To this day, God has been faithful to the decedents of Abraham, the nation of Israel, the nation Abraham was promised even has some of their land returned to them.

We must have the faith and trust of Abraham.

Since God is still faithful to the promises to Abraham,
How much more will God be faithful to those
        who submit to the Lord,
who bind themselves in the Holy Spirit, and
who confess Jesus Christ is Lord.

As I have matured in my faith,
I hope I could follow in Faith Abraham's example.

Our Great Humble Thanks and Praise be to God
And for His Promise of Jesus,
    Our Lord and Savior.

Thanks be to God.

Hidden Opportunities in the Midst of Sorrow...

Hidden Opportunities                Return to Main Menu
 in the Midst of Sorrow
-- A dog of a story?

“And if you greet only your brothers and sisters, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?”

“In everything do to others as you would have them do to you; for this is the law and the prophets.”

It is sad that in the midst of our own sorrow or the sorrow of others we miss or fail to see the opportunity to help someone.

While driving to my home one morning recently, I saw a dog hit by an oncoming car.  To my sorrow, it did not stop, no one else was around and the dog was clearly distressed but alive.

There was nothing to do but stop.  When getting to the dog, still in the road, on coming traffic would soon arrive.  Luckily,  the first two vehicles stopped to help.   As thought, the dog was in deep distress but alive.... barely.

Someone was sent to the closest house, but about the same time a woman came out screaming.  I felt so bad for her and suddenly a feeling of gladness came to me that I and others had stopped.  The owner pulled her car as we were sliding the dog on to a flattened box.  The lady had no idea where a vet was, she had just moved in.

I told her to follow me to the vet.  I did not realize that only her and in her was my opportunity.

The vet staff took the dog directly to their laboratory.  I sat with the lady in a small room as she cried.  I slipped next to her, took her hand, and started praying with her.  While we were praying, the doctor came in and I ended the prayer in a few moments.  The lady was no longer uncontrollably crying.

The doctor talked about the extent of the serious injuries to the dog, head and chest trauma.  It was decision time for the lady on what to do.... she started weeping again.  The doctor left to check on the dog and we talked.  Before she could make a decision, the doctor came back and said, "She (the dog) has made the decision.  She is gone."  Did the lady cry?

Yes, but the heavy sobbing was not there, she had become much calmer.  We went to see the dog for her to say good bye and then left the dog to be buried and went to our cars.  Her crying was quiet now as we talked.

We never realize the comfort we can be to the strangers around us.  I had helped her come to grips of the passing of her best friend.  It matters not that it was a dog.  'Precious' will not be forgotten by the lady, neither will I.

If we do not help the people around us in their stressful times, then what are we here for?!  Stopping was not a "problem", an interruption yes, but it turned into a great opportunity to serve her.

I feel that I gained the most by stopping to help her.

How many opportunities have I missed to help others and missed the opportunity to help them in their sorrow?   Too many.

Thanks be to God.
     For interruptions.
