Exodus 14: 13 But Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid, stand firm, and see the deliverance that the Lord will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you see today you shall never see again."

In our lives, we must do as Moses did when he and God's people stood at the "Red Sea" and the Egyptian chariots were stirring up dust coming to them, and they were coming hard and fast.  Moses obediently stood up to the grumbling people and said, "Stand firm, and watch what the Lord will accomplish for you today."  Our God truly supplies our needs.

As God continues to be faithful to the descendants of Abraham, so too will He be faithful to us.

Thanks to Dee Minter Kaiser for reminding us of this:

Jeremiah 17:7-8

Are you like a tree on a river bank or as one on a hill.

"Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months if drought. Their leaves stay green and they never stop producing fruit."

Growing up, in our secular society, we teach our children to have Self-Confidence. In the beginning this is not a bad thing.  The problem, and the children mature, they also need to be taught that it is Confidence in the Lord that is most important.   When we fail, we often lose our self-confidence.  When we have confidence in the Lord to meet our needs, we know our needs will be met.  So, in failure, we get up, use the failure as a stepping stone to future success.... because we know the the Lord will supply our needs.   Thanks be to God.

John I 1:5-7 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

Light is a major theme in the Bible.
Out of Darkness the first element of our nature was Light, Genesis 1:3.

There is an interesting fact of nature about this.  In the early part of the 20th Century physicist Richard Feynman was asking hard questions about small things in nature, more specifically what makes up a proton the very center of our atoms.  Dr. Feynman was a thinker and mathematician.  Through his math models he determined that our protons were made up bits of matter that just seemed to stay together.  So the next question was what holds them together.  What he and two others in the same year determined, was that it was Light that held the bits of matter together in the protons.  In 1937, all three were awarded the Nobel prize.  So, before anything else that was made there had to be light to hold everything together in our protons at the very center of every atom of the universe.  It took mankind 3500 years to discover what had already been written down in the Torah (first five books of the OT).  "Papaw, God is a Genius" - my grandson Rainer.    Now, read the story behind my grandson's discovery.  Click here

Random Thoughts for January 2012 week 3

Kings and Kingdoms shall all pass away but

How does the devil destroy your heart?

Scripture:    send me your thoughts

He chips away at it.

As a boy in Boy Scouting, I learned that to cut a log into two pieces, you do not cut straight down on the log, but you pick a spot and start chipping away at it. The devil does the same with our heart. He chips away at it by putting excuses in your mind for not doing what is commanded by God. How often do we: get mad at someone, when we should only be upset with their behavior, skip an act of kindness because of selfishness with our time, or skip the offering plate in our greed for a new toy such as a new phone. Don't let the devil chip away at your heart, his aim is perfect only if we allow it. To defeat the devil, Pray often.... everyday for the indwelling and Guidance of the Spirit.

The devil runs when we start to pray and do our Bible Study.

To have the Holy Spirit in your heart, we must pray...... and pray..... and pray.....everyday..... often.

> I was shocked , confused, bewildered
> As I entered Heaven's door,
> Not by the beauty of it all,

Remember-

The early bird may get the worm, but
it is the second mouse gets the cheese.

When we are greedy, we often rush in and
do things we should not do.
... "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God",
........then seek His wisdom;
............Submit to Jesus,
..............then allow the Holy Spirit
...................guide you to better decisions.

Pray and end your prayers as Jesus did,

.... "...not my will, but thine be done."

Thanks be to God.

Thoughts From:  Kim Toler Norris

‎* If any of You Need Wisdom, *You Should Ask God, *And it Will be Given to *You. *God is Generous* and *Won't Correct You for Asking*. *But when You Ask for Something, *You Must Have Faith and Not Doubt. *Anyone who Doubts is like an Ocean Wave Tossed around in a Storm*.James 1: 5,6 ♥ God Bless

Lonnie:        Wisdom is like humility,
when you think you have it.... you may have just lost it.

From Kim

♥ A Second chance is a new beginning <3 , if you learn from the First One. ♥ When you get One more Opportunity ♥ To Utilize Your Strengths; ♥ After one failure ♥ But, it will bring New Beginnings when You are doing Advanced than before. ♥ So, always have the Passion for Self Improvement ♥ .
Try to Learn New Things Everyday.

Lonnie:    When you fail, understand that it is failure only if you do not try again. When you learn from the first failure, it simply means you know more about how not to do it.

Often conclusions are what we come to when we quit thinking, do not let your conclusions come at the end of failure.

Who gets the Cheese?

Who Gets the Cheese? Two mice and a trap

Remember-
The early bird may get the worm, but
it is the second mouse that gets the cheese.

When we are greedy
      and demand our way,
        it is in we rush
             ignoring

               what others say;
we then do things     we should not do, and          then it's consequences               we must pay.
More Wisdom for Today:
"Seek ye first

        the Kingdom of God",
         and in God's wisdom

           we forever find Grace unending
from Christ our risen Lord;         and in submission,             as in days of old,              we find the Light,                we find the Spirit,                   we find the Promise                    that forever more                       gives us our path.
To have the God's Spirit
          Deep in our heart,
we must pray.... and Pray....
     and pray often everyday.
So as you Pray and pray when the day is won
    and upon you ending of
humble prayers I suggest you pray last  as Jesus did,    "...not my will, but thine be done."

Thanks be to God and
  may He Bless us everyday.

Wasting Our Time

Wasting Our Time
                                                                     Return to Main Menu

From a friend on Face book,
Kim Toler Norris recently wrote:

"Wasting one's time is one of the biggest wrongs that can be committed against one's self.  Time is our most valuable resource because it is something that once past, can never be acquired again. In order to make the best use of our time it is crucial that we use it doing the things within our heart that we love, with the people we love, and with those who love us in return. And, sometimes we can't rely on others for love and may even have doubt among ourselves, but at the end of the day we can always rely on God and His unconditional love for us."

My humble addition:

Unfortunately, the biggest problem with our time use and management, and thus falling into sin, is we do not pray for God's guidance in everything we do.  How many decisions do we make in a day where we affect many people and other people's circumstances that we never pray for guidance in those decisions?  How quickly we get mad about something then fuss at others who made us mad, often people we love. In our anger we lash out at people and waste time and hurt ourselves more than the other. This is sinful time management. Rather, we should immediately stop, take a deep breath, think, and pray.

Jesus did this. Consider all those years He saw the temple leaders, the scribes, Pharisees, and teachers of the law in their greed violating God’s scriptures. But, Jesus lived the meekness He preached in the Beatitudes on the Sermon of the Mount.  However, in the Greek definition of that meekness, He waited to the right time, the most perfect moment to expose His tempered angryness with the people He knew wanted to kill him (Greek meaning- Meekness/Boldness).  He sat the Perfect Example of a leader, His patience was/is immeasurable.
In Matthew 23, we have Jesus' seven woes to the leaders of the day. "Woe are you...". It shows some anger but in this case in the Greek, the emphasis here of 'woe' is and means ‘to pity’. Perhaps, we should allow our anger to be transformed to pity for those who wrong us, just as in Jesus' example.

Just as Jesus waited for years to speak out with His pity for those leaders who refused to seek to understand, so too, by His example we should do the same.  Just as God shows mercy, patience and forbearance in our sin against Him, so to we must do the same in our relationships with others.

Just as God has “unconditional love for us”, “at the end of the day” we must do the same for our friends, family, loved ones, and yes, our enemies…. Just as Jesus did, all the way on and through the cross.

Thanks be to God
  for giving us Jesus and
    the Holy Spirit
to show us and guide us on
        how to live our lives.
